Aalen awarded to organise JWGC 2026!

Following the great dynamic of the Serie 12 National SGP organised in Germany by Aalen Soaring club, the IGC awarded last Saturday the organisation of the Junior World Championship 2026 to the club!

Discussing with one of the manager of the Aalen Sailplane club Mr Bernd Schmid few weeks ago, their plan was clear “We want to use the opportunity to organise this National SGP to ensure the volunteers are getting used to English speaking, from briefing to field operations. So, allowing us to organise the German SGP is perfect opportunity for us. We organised many big national championships in the past, a logistic we are not afraid of, but we know the key to jump into international scene is language at all levels of the management of the event.”
